Thomas Walter

Thomas Walter has extensive experience in software architecture and engineering, currently serving as Lead Architect for SAP Cloud Platform at SAP since January 2006. In this role, Thomas oversees the development of applications in the cloud and leads architectural efforts for SAP's Java Server Program. Prior to SAP, Thomas held several positions including Manager of the Enterprise Java Group at BEA Systems, where responsibilities included delivering Java-based products to key customers and leading systems engineering for RFID offerings. Previous roles include Principal Systems Engineer at Forté Software, Principal Systems Consultant at Sybase, and Head of Systems Analysis at K-Systems GmbH. Thomas co-owned and managed CSL GmbH, focusing on healthcare solutions. Educational credentials include a Diplom in Physics from the University of Stuttgart.
