Emma Sturgill, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of research and medicine. Emma worked at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute from 2019 to the present, starting as a Program Specialist in Personalized Medicine and then progressing to the role of Sr. Program Specialist. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director in Population Sciences with the institute.
Prior to their work at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Emma co-founded PurSolutions LLC in 2015 where they served as the Scientific Director. Emma has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University from 2014 to 2016, and beforehand, they were a PhD Candidate at the same university from 2009 to 2014.
Dr. Emma Sturgill obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Emory & Henry College, where they attended from 2005 to 2009. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University, completing their studies from 2009 to 2014.
