Stephen Strickland has a strong background in hematology and oncology research and clinical practice. Stephen is currently serving as the Director of Leukemia Research at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they held various roles starting in 2002. These roles included Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant Medical Director, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Hematology Clinical Service Line Chief, and Hematology/Oncology Fellow. Stephen began their medical career as a Medical Resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2002.
Stephen Strickland's education history includes earning a bachelor's degree in Zoology and Physiology from Louisiana State University from 1991 to 1995. Stephen then pursued a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University from 1995 to 1996. Strickland later attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from 1998 to 2002. Finally, they went on to attend Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from 2007 to 2010, where they completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.
