Jessica Chen

Jessica Chen is an Honors Microbiology and Environmental Science student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Currently, they serve as a research assistant in the Riley Lab, focusing on bacteriocin-based drug development related to E. coli. Jessica has held leadership roles, including Vice President and Event Coordinator for the UMass Amherst Illusions Dance Team and Events Coordinator for the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, where they organized significant community events and supported fellow students in STEM fields. They previously completed a mentorship coordination role at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, fostering youth engagement in STEM. Jessica plans to continue their laboratory research and exploration within their field.
