Janak Soni

Janak Soni, CA, CISA, CISSP, CIA, CIP, has extensive work experience in various roles related to auditing, risk management, and quality assurance. Janak began their career as an Audit Assistant at S.I. Mogul & Company, Chartered Accountants, where they worked from 2000 to 2003. Janak then joined Hiren Diwan & Company, Chartered Accountants as a Senior Associate, where they led a team and managed activities related to audits and taxation from 2004 to 2006.

From 2006 to 2010, Janak worked at Financial Technologies (I) Ltd. as a Senior Consultant, conducting operational and business process audits for clients. Janak was also involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining ISO standards and documenting standard operating procedures.

In 2010, Janak joined Deloitte Canada as a Senior Consultant, specializing in enterprise risk. Janak was responsible for planning and executing audits, managing junior staff, and liaising with data analytics teams.

Since 2013, Janak has been working at Saskatchewan Government Insurance. Janak first served as an Audit Manager (IT), conducting risk-based IT and operational audits, providing recommendations, and performing special projects. Janak later became the Manager of Corporate Claims Quality Assurance, where they developed and maintained a quality assurance strategy and continuous improvement framework for claims. Currently, Janak holds the position of Director of Corporate Claims (Injury).

Janak Soni completed their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounts and Audit from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2000. Janak then pursued a Chartered Accountant certification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which they obtained in 2003. Janak Soni holds several additional certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in 2009, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2012, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2016, and COBIT5 Foundation Certificate from APMG International in 2013. Janak is currently pursuing a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada, which they are set to obtain in 2023.
