Roland Auer

Roland Auer is a highly experienced neuropathologist with a career spanning over three decades, currently serving at Saskatoon Health Region since September 2015, where responsibilities include surgical frozen section consultation and the creation of final reports in surgical and autopsy neuropathology. Prior roles include positions as a professor at Université de Montreal and neuropathologist at Hôpital Ste-Justine, where focus was on pediatric neuropathology and the examination of tissues from sick children. Roland Auer's extensive academic contributions include course development in pediatric and adult neuropathology at Université de Montreal. Previously, Roland Auer was notable for research and clinical work at the University of Calgary and Calgary Laboratory Services, specializing in hypoglycemic brain damage, ischemic brain damage, epilepsy, and neurotoxicology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Experimental Neuropathology from Lund University, an FRCPC in Clinical Neuropathology from Western University, and an MD from the University of Alberta, among others.
