Jaap Smit

Jaap Smit is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in gas infrastructure management and environmental engineering. Currently serving as Senior Manager: Gas Infrastructure Development & Management at Sasol since July 2002, Jaap has held various key positions within the company, including Gas Value Chain Manager and Business Integration Manager for ROMPCO. Prior to Sasol, Jaap worked at Mintek from July 1996 to June 2002 as Manager of Environmental Technologies. Jaap holds a Post Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of North Texas and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of the Free State, where both degrees were earned. Educational foundations were established at Kalahari Secondary School and further academic pursuits included the University of Pretoria.
