Oratile Sematle

Oratile Sematle has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. They started their career at Sasol in 2014 as a Lead Engineer, working on capital projects. In 2016, they became an E&I Group Manager, responsible for people management, performance management, and engineering leadership. In 2018, Oratile took on additional responsibilities as a Contributing Editor for South African Instrumentation and Control magazine at Technews Publishing. They also served as the immediate past President on the Board of Directors for SAIMC. In 2019, they joined the Future Production Technologies Initiative (FPTI) as a member of the Board of Directors. Their most recent role at Sasol was as a Digital Business Solutions Lead, where they focused on driving digital transformation and maximizing customer value. Oratile's work experience highlights their expertise in digitalization, business leadership, and engineering management.

Oratile Sematle has a diverse education history. Oratile completed the Management Acceleration Program (MAP) in Organizational Leadership at INSEAD in 2022. In 2020, they obtained the LODT degree in Business Leadership from INSEAD. In 2016, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cape Town. Before that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Electrical, Electronic, and Communications Engineering, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 2003 to 2006. Oratile's education journey began at Boitseanape Technical High School, where they obtained their Matric Certificate in N3 Electrical Engineering from 1997 to 2002. Besides their degrees, Oratile also holds additional certifications in Management and Leading Organizations from INSEAD Executive Education, as well as AWS Data Lake Tech Deep Dive and AWS Business Essentials from Amazon Web Services. Lastly, they obtained a Management 3.0 certification from IQbusiness South Africa in 2019.
