Axel Friedrich

Axel Friedrich has extensive experience in the aviation industry. Axel is currently the VP of Software Services at Satcom Direct. Prior to that, they worked at NAVBLUE, an Airbus Company, as the Product Director for Electronic Flight Bags. Axel also has experience working at the Federal Office of Civil Aviation Switzerland as an Expert in Aeronautical Information Management. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at Lufthansa Systems, including Director of Business Development, Program Manager, and Product Manager. Axel began their career as a Research Fellow at Technische Universität Darmstadt and previously worked as a Flight Operations Officer at Fraport AG, where they were responsible for operational flight planning and crew briefing.

Axel Friedrich completed their education in a chronological manner. Axel first attended Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 1993 to 1999, where they obtained a Diplom Geograph degree with a focus on Physical Geography, Meteorology, and Geology. Following this, they pursued a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt from 1999 to 2004. Axel'sdoctoral research was centered around Aeronautical Databases and Geographic Information Management.
