Xu Teo has a diverse work experience in the field of remote sensing and geospatial information. Xu started their career as a Distributor for Out Of Hand Scotland, where they were responsible for marketing and street distribution of magazines. Xu then worked as a Student Ambassador and Tutor/Demonstrator at The University of Edinburgh.
In 2015, Xu Teo joined Carbomap as a Software Development Intern, where they developed an app using Python for selecting remote sensing products for forest applications. Xu also worked at Earth-i, initially as an Operations Representative, then as a Client Services specialist, and finally as an Imagery & GIS Specialist. Xu contributed to the Geological Remote Sensing Group (GRSG) as a Committee Member and Secretary.
Xu Teo's career in the remote sensing industry continued at ICEYE, where they served as a Sales Engineer. Xu then joined Orbital Insight as a Solutions Engineer before transitioning to their current role at Satellite Vu as a Solutions Engineer.
In addition to their industry roles, Xu Teo has also taken on a position as an International Advisor at the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GASGI), where they worked on the National Geospatial Governance Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Xu Teo (张旭) has an extensive education history. Xu started their academic journey at Ngee Ann Polytechnic from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Diploma in Engineering with a specialization in Marine & Offshore Technology. Seeking further knowledge and expertise, Xu Teo went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Ecological Science (Environmental Science) from The University of Edinburgh from 2010 to 2014.
Driven by a passion for the field, Xu Teo continued their education at The University of Edinburgh, completing a Master of Science (MSc) in Earth Observation and Geoinformation Management from 2014 to 2015. This program provided him with advanced knowledge in utilizing earth observation technologies and managing geoinformation.
In addition to their formal education, Xu Teo has also acquired several certifications. To enhance their technical skills, they obtained certifications in Python programming, including "Python OOP: Master Object-Oriented Programming (in Python 3)" from Udemy and "Data Manipulation with Pandas" from DataCamp.
