Prateep Basu

Prateep Basu has a diverse work experience in the field of satellite Earth observation and aerospace. Prateep started their career in 2009 as a Research Intern at IdeaResearch, where they developed a meshless CFD code for airfoil simulations. In 2009-2010, they worked as a Business Development Intern at ANTRIX CORPORATION LIMITED, conducting a SWOT analysis of the company and studying the legal and policy framework of space commerce in India.

From 2010 to 2013, Basu worked at ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation as a Scientist and Project Engineer. Their responsibilities included working as a propulsion engineer, managing launch operations, and conducting research on liquid propulsion systems. Prateep also contributed to the design and optimization of tank outlet contours for GSLV MK-III.

Basu then joined Northern Sky Research, NSR in 2014 as an Analyst. Their role involved conducting global market research in various areas, such as satellite Earth observation and Big Data. Prateep also acted as a business and strategy consultant for satellite and aerospace firms, assisting in market identification and M&A activities.

In 2017, Basu co-founded SatSure and served as the Chief Operating Officer. Prateep was responsible for product development, strategy, partnerships, and overall operations. In 2013, Prateep Basu pursued a Master of Science in Space Studies with a specialization in Space Engineering & Management from the International Space University. Prateep completed the program in 2015.
