Daniel Gygax

Daniel Gygax is an accomplished expert in bioanalytical sciences with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as the Head of the topical platform "technologies for precision medicine" at the Schweizerische Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften SATW since June 2005, Daniel has also held the position of Associate Lecturer at the University of Basel from October 2007 to September 2023. Prior to that, Daniel was the Head of the Bioanalytics Group and the bachelor's program in Molecular Life Sciences at Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW from April 1999 to April 2022. Additionally, Daniel served as a Visiting Professor at Università degli Studi di Palermo from July 2013 to May 2019. Daniel's industry experience includes leadership roles at Novartis, where the focus was on immunoanalytics and pharmacokinetics, and at Ciba-Geigy as a Research Scientist in central research laboratories. Daniel’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Basel and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University.
