Fund-of-Funds Program Lead, Aramco Ventures at Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures

Balsam Al-Saif, CFA has extensive work experience in various roles. Balsam started their professional career at the Saudi Student Society in British Columbia (SSSBC) in 2012, where they worked in Marketing and Sponsorship.

In 2007, Balsam joined Aramco and took on multiple roles within the company. As a Financial Analyst in the Public Equity, Portfolio Management, and Investment Management Department, they introduced a derivative investment strategy to the company's portfolio, resulting in consistent outperformance over the benchmark. Balsam also developed a monthly reporting system to monitor fund managers.

Balsam was then involved in the Idikhar Program in the Investment Services and Investment Management Department. In this role, they participated in developing asset management strategies and investment recommendations. Balsam also contributed to the construction of the Idikhar websites and organized educational roadshows throughout Saudi Arabia.

Within the Personnel Department at Aramco, Balsam served as an Advisor in the Retirement Unit, where they organized a corporate event for Saudi female retirees. Balsam also worked as an Advisor in various other capacities within the Personnel Department.

Most recently, Balsam joined Aramco Ventures in 2019 as the Fund-of-Funds Program Lead. In this role, they lead the selection, due diligence, and maintenance of fund relations for the Fund-of-Fund Program.

Throughout their diverse work experience, Balsam has demonstrated strong skills in finance, investment management, asset management, event organization, and team management.

Balsam Al-Saif, CFA, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Human Resources Management from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. Balsam attended the university from 2008 to 2013. Prior to their enrollment at Simon Fraser University, Balsam completed the Saudi Aramco College Preparatory Program (CPP) in 2008. In January 2021, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute.
