Willem-Paul Swanborn has had extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Willem-Paul currently holds the position of VP "Crushing Complexity" at Saudi Azm, where they aim to serve the digital transformation agenda in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, they worked at Pegasystems in different strategic portfolio executive roles, responsible for sales and alliances in the Oil-Gas-Energy-Chemicals industry, Middle East & Africa, and emerging markets. Willem-Paul also worked at Business & Decision as a Business Development Manager and at Capgemini in roles such as Business Development Manager, Principal, and Global Account Executive. Additionally, they co-founded Taresika Ventures, where they organized finance and start-up phases for new business ventures. Willem-Paul also had a sabbatical as the General Manager of Societe de Conservation & Developement, working on a wildlife conservation and eco-tourism project. Swanborn started their career at Cap-Volmac as a Business Unit Manager and at Mastergroup as a Commercial Director, focusing on technical documentation and content management solutions. Willem-Paul began their commercial career at Pink Elephant, helping to expand the company in the Netherlands.

Willem-Paul Swanborn began their education in 1976 at Nieuwe Lyceum Bilthoven, where they completed their studies in 1980. Willem-Paul then attended Nyenrode Business University from 1982 to 1984, focusing on Business School. Moving forward, they pursued their education at Leiden University from 1984 to 1988, where they studied International Law. In 1998, they attended INSEAD and completed the International Business School Program Capgemini, specializing in Educational Leadership and Administration, General for a year.
