Rayyanah Barnawi is an astronaut at the Saudi Space Commission since April 2023. Previously, Rayyanah worked as a Research Laboratory Technician and Research Trainee in stem cell therapy at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre from April 2012 to May 2023. Additional early experience includes a Communication and Management Trainee role at Safa Pioneer Clinic and embryology training at Buraidah Infertility and IVF Center in December 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, focusing on Cancer Stem Cells, from Alfaisal University, and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Genetics, Reproduction and Development from the University of Otago. Rayyanah also completed a Foundation Year in Health Sciences at UNSW and holds a High School Diploma in Science from Dar Al-Huda Aramco School.
