Fermin Leal has an extensive work experience in the field of communications and journalism. Fermin currently serves as the Chief Communications Officer for the Santa Ana Unified School District. Prior to this, they worked as the Founding Editor of FutbolDaily.com, where they were responsible for editing and photography related to soccer news. Fermin also worked as a Communications Specialist for the Orange County Department of Education, where they implemented marketing strategies and managed social media accounts. Additionally, Fermin served as a Writer for EdSource, reporting on education issues and trends. Fermin began their career as a Staff Writer for The Orange County Register, where they covered various K-12 school districts and wrote articles on education topics.
Fermin Leal holds a Master's Degree in Communications Management from USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, completed in 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton in the years 1997 to 2000. Fermin began their academic journey at Santa Ana College, where they studied Communications from 1994 to 1997.
