Ismael Antonio S.

Ismael Antonio S. is a Senior Data Engineer at Savana, a position they have held since 2022. In this role, they are responsible for leading and directing a team of data engineers in the implementation and improvement of data management processes and systems. Ismael Antonio is also an ambassador of good data governance practices, promoting the proper use and protection of data throughout the company. Ismael Antonio has developed ETL processes using Apache Spark and programming languages such as Python and Scala, particularly in the area of Electronic Medical Records.

Prior to this, Ismael was a Data Engineer at StratioBD from 2021 to 2022. During this time, they implemented an E2E process for the Logroño City Council, including data extraction using the Stratio platform and its connector to SQL Server, data transformation using the Stratio Rocket module and Apache Spark, and data modeling using the Stratio Governance module and ontology mapping. KPI were visualized using the open-source Metabase tool. Ismael Antonio also developed a predictive system for the trajectory and usability of electric bicycles using the Python API for Apache Spark (pyspark) for the Bilbao City Council.

Ismael was a Software Engineer at Santander Global Tech from 2020 to 2021. As part of the team responsible for the online banking transactions platform, they worked with a wide range of data engineering technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, and Hazelcast.

Before that, Ismael was a Software Developer at BBVA Next Technologies from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they had the opportunity to participate in various technology and system projects that allowed him to develop their data management and analysis skills. Thanks to the Helena project, they worked on a global platform for mass data processing related to funds and pensions. Their role included improving the efficiency, scalability, and fault tolerance of processes through the migration of on-premise servers to cloud servers and the implementation of serverless processes.

Ismael began their career as a Junior Software Developer at Autana Consultores de Tecnología in 2017. As a recent graduate in the field of data analytics, they were involved in projects related to social media data analysis and geographic data. Ismael Antonio had the opportunity to work in their first professional experience thanks to RED.es. Despite their lack of experience, they were highly motivated and committed to the work and always looking for new opportunities to continue learning and improving their skills.

Ismael Antonio S. graduated from Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana "José Antonio Echeverría" in 2017 with a degree in Ingeniero Automático, specializing in Tecnología/Técnico de ingeniería de automatización. In 2017-2018, they attended Asime and obtained a degree in Big Data Management, Technologies and Analitycs, specializing in Análisis de Datos. Ismael Antonio has also obtained several certifications, including Building Data Lakes on AWS from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2022, Data Centric Basics Exam from StratioBD in 2021, Stream Processing Patterns in Apache Flink from LinkedIn in 2021, AWS Solutions Training for Partners: Machine Learning on AWS from Amazon Web Services in 2018, and AWS Technical Professional from Amazon Web Services in 2018.
