Alexander Tobar

Alexander Tobar is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience in criminal investigations and police training. Currently serving as Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division at the Savannah Police Department since April 2018, Alexander also holds the position of Captain at Savannah Chatham Metro Police, where responsibilities have included Training Coordinator, Lieutenant, Aggravated Assault Sergeant, Internal Affairs Investigator, and Homicide Supervisor. Previous leadership experience includes serving as Southside Precinct Captain at Savannah Police Department from March 2021 to January 2022. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University and an Associate's degree in Romance Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from the University of Maryland Global Campus, alongside educational experiences at The University of Georgia.
