Karen Chesney

Karen Chesney currently serves as a Professor of Animation and Professor of Digital Communication and Computer Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design since September 2016. Prior to this role, Karen was a student at the same institution, completing an MFA in Visual Effects, and gained experience as a Freelance Matte Painter at Awesome Incorporated in 2014. Additional expertise includes serving as a Painting Instructor at the Spruill Center for the Arts and as a Marketing Specialist for Centra Health. Karen's extensive background in non-profit marketing included various roles from 1994 to 2005, along with community education initiatives at the Crisis Line of Central Virginia. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art/Scientific Illustration from the University of Georgia, attained in 1994.
