Karen Brown

Karen Brown has over a decade of experience in leadership roles focused on equity, inclusion, and community relations in educational settings. Currently serving as the Director of Cultural Competency and Inclusion at Savannah Country Day School since July 2021, Karen previously held positions at The Masters School, including Director of Equity and Inclusion and Director of Admission. As the Founder of A Step Beyond/Mills Consulting, Karen provided consultancy services from February 2011 to July 2016. Additional experience includes serving as Associate Director of Admission at Whitby School and Director of Development and Community Relations at the Urban League of Westchester. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Howard University and is a Certified Restorative Practices Trainer from the International Institute of Restorative Practices.
