Chris Harkins is the SVP, Chief Engineer & Nuclear Safety Officer at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. Chris has over 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry. Chris started their career as a submarine officer in the US Navy. Chris then went on to Newport News Shipbuilding, where they were the Director of Nuclear Test Engineering. Chris was responsible for the largest Atlantic submarine squadron, comprised of over 2,000 personnel and $20 Billion in assets. In their role, Chris was responsible for ship performance and mentored 17 Commanding Officers. Chris then transitioned to their current role as SVP, Chief Engineer & Nuclear Safety Officer at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. In this role, Chris is responsible for nuclear safety and engineering across the organization.

Chris Harkins attended the United States Naval Academy for their BS in Systems Engineering. Chris then went on to Auburn University for their Executive Masters in Business Administration (MBA). After that, they attended Navy Command Leadership School for their Navy Executive Officer, Commanding Officer, Major Command Leadership Continuum certification. Lastly, they attended the U.S. Naval War College for their Joint Professional Military Education certification.
