Kasul Sheshagiri

Kasul Sheshagiri has extensive experience in the field of rice breeding. Kasul currently holds the position of Head of Rice Breeding at Savannah Seeds Pvt Ltd since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Rice Breeder at the same company from November 2019 to December 2022. Before joining Savannah Seeds, Sheshagiri was a Breeding Project Lead for rice at Syngenta India from October 2013 to November 2019. Kasul also worked as a Senior Rice Breeder at Devgen Seeds and crop technology from October 2011 to September 2013 and as a Junior Rice Breeder from October 2010 to October 2011. Sheshagiri's early work experience includes being a Senior Research Associate at DuPont Pioneer from March 2003 to September 2010 and a Research Officer at EID PARRY (INDIA) LTD from March 1999 to March 2003, where they focused on varietal development of sugarcane.

Kasul Sheshagiri's education history begins with their completion of Seventh grade at Cheranjivee Methodist School in 1989. They then attended New Kannada High School, Yadgiri, where they completed their Inter College degree in Science in 1994. Continuing their education, Sheshagiri pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, from 1994 to 1998. In 2006, they enrolled at Indira Gandhi National Open University and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Operations Research in 2010. Sheshagiri furthered their academic journey by pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology at Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, GITAM Vishakapatnam, from 2010 to 2012. Lastly, in 2017, they attended the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and obtained a Certificate in Genetic Engineering.
