Marla Smith

Marla Smith is a seasoned professional in health and nutrition, currently serving as the Health & Nutrition Team Lead at Save the Children International since August 2013. Prior experience includes roles as Country Director at the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) from June 2007 to April 2013, and Regional Program Development Officer at International Relief and Development (IRD) from March 2006 to June 2007. Marla also worked with the US Peace Corps as Associate Director for Health and as Rural Youth/Community Developer, along with positions such as Gender Advisor at Danish Development Cooperation (DANIDA) and Technical Advisor at Irish Aid. Marla began their career at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) as Program Manager and held the position of Outreach Director at the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG). Marla holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Agriculture, Environment and Development from the University of East Anglia.
