Jimale Magan

Jimale Magan has a diverse work experience in the field of international development and humanitarian aid. Jimale has worked for various organizations, including Save the Children UK, NORCAP - part of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Save the Children International, American Refugee Committee, and HAVOYOCO.

Jimale'smost recent role was as an Equitable Partnership Lead at Save the Children UK, starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Localisation Expert at NORCAP in March 2023.

From July 2021 to February 2023, they served as a Regional Civil Society Partnership Advisor - East and Southern Africa and as a Technical Specialist for Youth Economic Empowerment at Save the Children International. In these roles, they were responsible for designing and implementing youth economic empowerment programs, promoting employment in green jobs, and supporting livelihoods.

Before joining Save the Children International, Jimale worked as a Partnership Manager and an Emergency Response Coordinator at Save the Children Somalia/Somaliland Country Office. Jimale also served as a Skills Training & Employment Project Manager.

Earlier in their career, they worked at the American Refugee Committee as a TVET Project Manager and a TVET Project Officer in Somalia. Prior to that, they were a Program Manager and a Counsellor & Employment Officer at HAVOYOCO, where they managed and led a team of program staff.

Overall, Jimale Magan has a strong background in partnership management, youth economic empowerment, and humanitarian response, making him a valuable asset in the field of international development.

Jimale Magan completed their Bachelor of Economics in the field of Social Sciences from the University of Hargeisa between 2007 and 2011. Currently, they are pursuing an MA in Peace, Governance, and Development at the University for Peace (UPEACE) - UN Mandated, which began in 2020. Jimale has also obtained a certification in Project Cycle Management from Oxfam.
