Peter Richards has a diverse work experience spanning from 2005 to 2018. Peter started their career as a Project Administrator at Diageo in 2005. Peter then joined BT Global Services, where they held various positions, including HR Talent Development and Programme Manager. In 2012, they joined NSPCC as a Project Officer and eventually became an Implementation Manager. Since 2018, Peter has been working at Save the Children UK, where they first served as Head of Quality, Learning, and Improvement, and then moved on to become the Head of Evidence and Learning.

Peter Richards obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Music from the University of York in 2005. Peter then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Public Policy from UCL, which they completed in 2014. Prior to their university education, they attended Latymer Upper School from 1995 to 2002.
