Ellen MacKowiak

Ellen Mackowiak is an accomplished professional in humanitarian programs, currently serving as Senior Director for Save the Children US, focusing on the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe since September 2019. Ellen has held various leadership roles at Save the Children, including Advisor for the Humanitarian Program Portfolio and Acting Senior Director for the ESA/MENAEE region. In early 2024, Ellen took on the role of Operations Manager for the Gaza Response Team at Save the Children International. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Information Officer with USAID's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance, Business Development Specialist at Catholic Relief Services, and Fundraising and Project Coordinator at Article 25. Ellen's educational background includes a Master of Science in Development Economics and International Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from DePaul University, complemented by a brief study at The Leuven Institute for Ireland in Europe.
