Save the Redwoods League
Deborah Zierten is a skilled environmental educator with a solid background in program management and curriculum development. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Education and Interpretation at Save the Redwoods League since May 2013, Zierten leads efforts to connect people with the beauty of redwood forests. Prior experience includes the role of Program Director at KIDS for the BAY from September 2007 to April 2013, where management of environmental science programs for elementary students focused on waste reduction and watershed conservation. Earlier positions also include Teacher Naturalist at Tree Frog Treks and Curriculum Developer at KQED, as well as a Science Communications Intern with the National Park Service. Zierten holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Oregon.
