Laura Wildman

Vice President Of Ecological Restoration at Save the Sound

Laura Wildman has over 30 years of experience in the field of ecological restoration, water resource engineering, and fish passage. Laura is currently serving as the Regional Director of Ecological Restoration at Save the Sound since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Practice Area Lead at Biohabitats from November 2020 to present, specializing in fish passage and river restoration. Before that, Laura worked at Princeton Hydro as the Director of the New England Regional Office from February 2009 to November 2020. Laura also served as the Chief Engineer at American Rivers from January 2001 to January 2009. Earlier in their career, Laura was a Project Manager and Water Resource Engineer at Milone & MacBroom, Inc. from 1991 to 2001. Laura has a strong background in ecological restoration and water resource management, making their a valuable asset in their current role.

Laura Wildman has a diverse education history. Laura received their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont, where they attended from 1985 to 1989. Following their undergraduate studies, Laura pursued a Master's of Environmental Management degree at Yale University from 2003 to 2004. Their focused areas of study during this time included Rivers, Sediment Transport, Fisheries Biology, and Environmental Writing. Later on, from 2015 to 2018, they engaged in post-graduate work at the University of Southampton, specializing in Engineering and the Environment.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Laura has obtained professional certifications. In 1994, they became a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) recognized by the State of Connecticut. Laura also holds the certification of Professional Civil Engineer, although the details of when and where this certification was obtained are not provided.
