Carol Kasten

Vice President, Governance, Risk & Compliance at SaverLife

Carol Kasten has a wealth of experience in the information security field. Carol began their career in 1997 at Intel Corporation, where they held various roles, including Governance Manager, Product Assurance and Security, Information Security Manager and Investigations Lead, Director of IT Compliance and Intel Federal IT, Director of Legal & Corporate Affairs Information and Investigation Services, Data Protection and Privacy Manager/Director, and Senior PC and Server Technician, Server Operations Manager. In 2019, they joined High-Tech Freelance LLC as a Senior Information Security Consultant/Owner and SaverLife: Chief Information Security Officer, where they provided information security leadership and guidance to the executive team, colleagues, and external partners and drove security and governance work in support of SOC2 compliance. In 2020, Carol Kasten joined SaverLife (formerly EARN) as Chief Information Security Officer, where they are responsible for implementing and maintaining SOC2 Type 2 certification, designing and implementing the information security and privacy strategy and program, and providing information security, privacy, and anti-fraud oversight for the SaverLife application.

Carol Kasten obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology with Specialization in Information Assurance and Security from Capella University. Carol has also obtained three certifications: Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2013, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from the Information Systems Audit & Control Association in 2004, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium - ISC(2) in 2001.
