Austin Hammer

Austin Hammer has worked in the software engineering field since 2017. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Podium.com, where they extended and supported a platform that ingests data from all podium internal integrations, via RabbitMQ and API endpoints, and assisted with architecting new internal and external integrations using Elixir with the Phoenix framework. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Software Developer at iPipeline, where they designed and implemented integrations between iPipeline products and various inbound and outbound endpoints using Java and Mulesoft's Anypoint Platform, improved and expanded two Ruby on Rails applications used for processing insurance files, and designed, implemented, and maintained a Spring MVC application used as an administrative interface for all integrations projects. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Computer Technician - Electronic Messaging at the University of Utah, where they worked with the university email team to automate routine tasks on the mailbox servers, created websites that interact with the Microsoft Exchange Environment, and created an additional website to abstract and automate new email account creation. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Store Supervisor at Emergency Essentials, where they trained employees on sales tactics, created custom discounts for bulk orders, and organized and lead inventory management processes. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Maintenance Specialist at Liberty Square Apartments, where they used methods learned in advertising and marketing courses to research and create two print ads for the complex, routinely inspected and repaired apartments, and organized outdoor events. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Human Resources Intern at LG Electronics, where they worked with Indian and Chinese employees in the division, helped them understand the Korean culture and language, and developed a culture program for the division. Finally, from 2007 to 2008, they worked as an English Tutor at Brigham Young University, where they tutored members of the Hyundai Heavy Industries team during a 3 month English language program, maintained a professional appearance and attitude while tutoring, and taught English concepts simply but completely, translating into Korean when necessary.

Austin Hammer received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Utah in 2015 and a BA in Korean and Business from Brigham Young University in 2010.
