Cissp-Issap Andrew Whelchel Issep

Andrew Whelchel, CISSP-ISSAP, ISSEP, has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Andrew is currently serving as a Senior Solutions Engineer at Saviynt since March 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Okta, Inc. as a Principal Sales Engineer from May 2019 to March 2021, and as a Senior Sales Engineer from December 2016 to May 2019.

Before joining Okta, Inc., Andrew held the position of System Engineer at TopSpin Security from April 2016 to December 2016. In this role, they provided presales support for the TopSpin Security deception layer solution, DECOYnet, and delivered executive and technical level presentations on its value proposition. Andrew also conducted Proof of Concepts and provided technical demonstrations and workshops to showcase the solution's value to customers. Additionally, they supported customers on framework and operations integration of DECOYnet to information security operations.

Andrew's career includes a stint as an Advisory Systems Engineer at RSA The Security Division of EMC, where they provided pre-sales support for customers, presented technical whiteboards and workshops, and performed technical Proof of Concepts for RSA products from April 2016 to April 2016. Andrew also served as a Senior Technology Consultant at RSA from May 2012 to April 2016.

Prior to their time at RSA, Andrew worked as an Advanced Technology Consultant at Digital Connections from August 2006 to May 2012 and as a Senior Consultant at Core BTS in 2005.

Throughout their various roles, Andrew has demonstrated their expertise in cybersecurity, sales engineering, presales support, and technical validation.

Andrew Whelchel, CISSP-ISSAP, ISSEP completed their education at The University of Memphis from 1994 to 1999. Andrew obtained a BBA degree with a field of study in MIS.

In addition to their education, Andrew Whelchel has obtained multiple certifications. Their most recent certifications include the Amazon Web Services Machine Learning Specialty and Amazon Web Services Data Analytics Specialty, both obtained in 2021. Andrew also holds the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certification, obtained in 2021.
