Ilkka Huhtakallio

Chief Audio Designer at Savox Communications

Ilkka Huhtakallio has a diverse work experience in the field of acoustics and engineering. Ilkka began their career as an Assistant in the Department of Micro and Nanosciences in 2006, where they worked until 2008. From there, they joined Ideafix Oy as a System Designer from June 2010 to May 2011. In October 2011, Ilkka became a Research Assistant at Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering, a role they held until June 2014.

In 2009, Ilkka co-founded BL-Acoustics Oy, where they worked as an Acoustic Engineer and System Designer. Their responsibilities included sound reinforcement system design, manufacturing, measurements, tuning, and acoustic consultation and installations. Ilkka remained with the company until January 2016.

From July 2014 to January 2018, Ilkka worked as a Research Engineer in Acoustics at the Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics - Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering. In this role, they developed academic research infrastructure, designed measurement procedures, conducted measurements and tests, and prototyped new products for research purposes. Additionally, they provided support to researchers and PhD students in the communication acoustics research group.

Starting in January 2018, Ilkka joined Savox Communications Ltd as an Audio Designer. Ilkka then progressed to become the Head of Espoo CoE & Chief Audio Designer in February 2019, and eventually became the Chief Audio Designer in November 2019.

Ilkka Huhtakallio obtained a Master's Degree in Acoustics and audio signal processing along with telecommunication from Aalto University. Ilkka studied at the university from 2002 to 2014.
