Tavy Chen, EdD, has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in the field of education. Currently, they serve as a Senior Software Product Manager at Savvas Learning Co (formerly Pearson K12 Learning) since April 2021. From July 2013 to April 2021, Tavy worked as a self-employed Educational Research and Assessment Consultant. They also held the position of Director of Accountability, Research, & Evaluation at Orange County Public Schools from October 2014 to March 2017. Tavy worked in various roles at Duval County Public Schools, including Director, Secondary Data & Assessment from January 2013 to July 2013, Supervisor, Data & Assessment from December 2011 to December 2012, Mathematics Specialist from October 2008 to November 2011, and Secondary Mathematics Teacher from July 2005 to October 2008. Prior to that, from March 2004 to July 2005, Tavy worked as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at the School District of Hillsborough County.

Tavy Chen, EdD, completed their education history in a chronological manner. Tavy first attended the University of Florida from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics. Following this, they pursued their Master of Education (MEd) degree in Secondary Mathematics Education at the University of North Florida, attending from 2005 to 2007. Later, they enrolled in the University of North Florida again and successfully achieved their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership, studying from 2009 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, Tavy Chen also obtained several certifications. In 2004, they received the Secondary Mathematics Professional Teaching certification from the Florida Department of Education. Tavy further expanded their expertise by obtaining the Adolescence and Young Adulthood/Mathematics certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2008. In 2010, they completed the Educational Leadership certification from the Florida Department of Education, the Leadership Academy from the National Staff Development Council, and the Aspiring Leaders Academy from the Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership.
