Agnieszka Werpachowska

Head of Forecasting at MAPAL Group (Nordics)

Agnieszka Werpachowska has a diverse range of work experience. In 2011, they were a visitor at UCL and received offers for a postdoctoral role and an EPSRC fellowship application support. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University College London, focusing on open quantum systems and non-equilibrium quantum thermodynamics. Following that, from 2013 to 2014, they worked at an NPO as a Mathematical Modeller and C++ Developer, leading a joint project with the OECD. During this time, they conducted microsimulations of population dynamics and forecasted population variables. From 2014 to 2015, Agnieszka took a break from work. In 2015, they founded Averisera Ltd, where they served as the CEO. Their work at Averisera involved mathematical modeling, large-scale data analysis, and simulations of reality. Agnieszka also conducted research on topics such as demographics, state pension systems, and cybersecurity. In 2021, Agnieszka became the Lead Data Scientist at Savvie AS, an IT startup that was later acquired by the MAPAL Group. In this role, they focused on harnessing AI for the society and environment, building statistical and ML models for forecasting, and developing data cleaning and preprocessing pipelines. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Forecasting at MAPAL Group (Nordics), starting in 2022. Their responsibilities in this role are not mentioned.

Agnieszka Werpachowska has a strong educational background in physics and mathematics. Agnieszka began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from the College of Science at Polish Academy of Sciences, specializing in computer modeling of phenomena. This took place from 2000 to 2003.

Continuing their studies, Agnieszka pursued a Master's degree in Condensed Matter Physics at the same institution, from 2003 to 2005.

Agnieszka later engaged in the DESY Summer Student Programme at DESY Hamburg in 2004, where they focused on developing a theoretical model of FEL laser-induced heating of electron gas in metals.

Agnieszka's dedication to knowledge expansion led their to pursue a Ph.D. in the Theory of Spin Phenomena in Physics at the esteemed Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences. Agnieszka successfully completed their Ph.D. with distinction from 2006 to 2010.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Agnieszka has also obtained additional certifications. Agnieszka holds a TensorFlow Developer Certificate from the TensorFlow Certificate Program, which they acquired in October 2020. Furthermore, Agnieszka has obtained the PADI Open Water Diver certification, although the specific time of acquisition is not provided.
