Aurora Ascione, PhD, is a highly experienced professional specializing in cybersecurity, risk management, governance, and regulation. Currently serving as a Special Advisor at Finanstilsynet since November 2020, Aurora previously held significant roles including Assistant Director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where responsibilities encompassed strategy analysis and project management related to the economic consequences of Brexit. Aurora has a strong academic background, having lectured on subjects such as International Macroeconomics and Econometrics at Arcadia University, and has held positions including Chief Economist at the BBC Trust and Economic Adviser at the Competition and Markets Authority. Aurora holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Boston University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the European University Institute.
