Andrew Akhlaghi

Andrew Akhlaghi has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Andrew started their career as a Research Intern at Third Way in 2007. Andrew then worked as a Research Intern at the National Foreign Trade Council in 2008, where they conducted quantitative research on international trade metrics and tracked legislation on trade sanctions. In 2009, Andrew became a Research Intern at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies, where they contributed to the center's blog and co-authored papers on energy policy and renewable energy investment in Syria.

In 2011, Andrew joined the US Army as a 1LT and served until 2014. Andrew then joined the University of Oklahoma as a Graduate Assistant from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they also pursued their doctoral studies at UT Austin from 2016 to 2021.

Since 2021, Andrew has been working at Sayari, a global commercial ownership data company. Andrew started as a Data Scientist and later became the Integrations and Analytics Manager until December 2022.

Andrew Akhlaghi obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from The Johns Hopkins University in 2010. Andrew then pursued a Master's degree in Area Studies at the University of Oklahoma from 2014 to 2016. Following that, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2016 to 2021, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in History. In addition to their academic achievements, Andrew also obtained two certifications as an Associate Cloud Engineer from Google Cloud in December 2022.
