Sandy Basten

Sandy Basten is currently a partner at Sayers. Sandy has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry and has held various senior positions during their career.

Sandy started their career in 2003 as Head of Credit at BT Financial Group. Sandy then moved to Westpac Private Bank in 2008 as National Portfolio Manager. In this role, Sandy was responsible for managing a $5bn loan book and providing strategic advice to clients.

In 2009, Sandy joined ANZ Private Bank as a Senior Private Banker and Investment Adviser. During their time at ANZ, Sandy worked with families who had gone through a 'liquidity event' such as selling a business or property, and provided them with banking and wealth management solutions.

Sandy has extensive experience in family strategy, succession planning, investment advice, asset protection and portfolio management. Sandy is a highly respected member of the financial services industry, and their knowledge and experience have helped many families navigate through difficult times.

Sandy Basten has a Certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family First Institute, a Certificate in Family Wealth Advising from the Family First Institute, an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning from Mentor Education, a Diploma in Financial Planning from Pinnacle Financial Services Academy, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA, a Master of Commerce with a specialization in finance from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Business with a double major in accounting and finance from the University of Technology Sydney.

They are on a team with La Verne Legaspi - Associate Director, William Broughton - Partner, and Joe Buckley - Associate Director. Their manager is James Wright, CEO & CIO, Wealth.
