Marco Geering has a diverse work experience in various roles within the aviation industry. Marco started their career at RUAG Aviation as a Fatigue Engineer and later became a System Engineer for the Swiss Weapons System Tiger F-5E/F. Marco then moved on to the Swiss Air Force as a Flight Safety Specialist Maintenance. In 2010, they joined RUAG MRO International, where they held positions such as Vice President Quality & Safety and Senior Manager Quality & Flight Safety, overseeing quality, safety, and environmental aspects across multiple international sites. Marco also served as the Department Manager for Jet&Missiles Engineering, responsible for the airworthiness of Swiss Air Force weapon systems. In 2020, Marco became the General Manager at RUAG Aerostructures, managing the site Emmen. Currently, they are working at SBB Cargo as the Head of Fleet Technics ECM 2.

Marco Geering obtained their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Through-life System Sustainment from Cranfield University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Mechanical Design and Materials, from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts from 1998 to 2001.
Before pursuing higher education, Marco Geering completed a technical professional maturity program at Berufsmatura Kanton Luzern from 1997 to 1998. In addition, they also completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic at RUAG Aviation from 1990 to 1994.
Marco Geering has further enhanced their expertise by obtaining various certifications. Marco received the Sicherheitssassistent certification from Suva in July 2019. In February 2018, they obtained the Excellence Leadership certification from SWISS EXCELLENCE FORUM. Furthermore, Marco Geering is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), having obtained this certification from INCOSE in September 2012.
