Joseph Maxwell

Joseph Maxwell is the Head of Unscripted at SBS Australia, where they work closely with independent production companies to commission impactful shows that inspire and provoke change. Prior to this role, Joseph served as the Head of Factual and Commissioning Editor at SBS Australia from 2016 to 2022, overseeing notable documentaries such as “Who Do You Think You Are?” and the award-winning “Uranium, Twisting the Dragon’s Tail.” Joseph has a rich background in production, having been a Director Producer in the UK from 2003 to 2011, with acclaimed projects including “9/11 The Firemen’s Story” and “Tribal Wives.” They hold a BA Hons in Anthropology and History from University College London.
