Aimee' Carter

Aimee Carter, Ed.D. has a diverse background in various educational institutions and departments. Aimee' currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the SC Technical College System, where they are responsible for creating access to higher education and enhancing professional development opportunities. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Academic Partnerships & Engagement at the same institution.

Before joining the SC Technical College System, Aimee worked at the University of South Carolina, initially as an Adjunct Instructor and later as the Assistant Director of Experiential Education. In these roles, they managed the career center's experiential education program, supervised staff, and taught career development courses.

Aimee also gained significant experience at South University, where they held various positions including Dean of Student Affairs, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, and Director of Career Services. In these roles, they provided leadership, oversaw functional areas, and facilitated student persistence, satisfaction, and employment.

Aimee Carter, Ed.D. earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, specializing in Psychology, from Wayland Baptist University in 2003-2005. Aimee' then pursued a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of South Carolina from 2007 to 2009. Aimee continued their academic journey at Argosy University, where they obtained a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, Aimee has obtained several certifications, including the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business in 2021, the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) certification from the National Career Development Association in 2018, and the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification from the Center For Credentialing & Education in 2007.
