Dan Kummer

Dan Kummer has extensive work experience in IT and security. Dan is currently serving as the Director of Information Security & Business Systems at Scaled Agile, Inc. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of IT and Security at Arturo, where they implemented a company-wide security awareness training program, applied AWS best practices for security and availability, and maintained SOC2 security and compliance. Before Arturo, Dan was the Vice President of IT & Security at Choreograph, where they acquired Wunderman Thompson Data and designed and implemented a globally distributed web infrastructure. Dan also created and implemented a formal security role within the organization and achieved GIAC Global Security Essentials Certification. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Global IT Service Desk Manager at Sigma Aldrich, where they played a key role in implementing a 24x7 global service desk and designed incident and problem management processes using ITIL best practices.

Dan Kummer completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Accounting from the University of Colorado Denver in the years 1993 to 1995. Dan also obtained an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Red Rocks Community College during the years 1991 to 1992. Dan completed their high school education at Lakewood Sr High School, graduating with a diploma in General Studies from 1986 to 1989. Additionally, they attended a Security Essentials program at the SANS Technology Institute in 2012, and an ITIL Training Class in 2007. Dan has received several certifications in the field of information security, including the Nexpose Certified Administrator from Rapid7 in 2018, GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA) from Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in January 2018, GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) from GIAC in July 2015, GIAC Advisory Board from GIAC in January 2012, and GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC in November 2012.
