Haya Ahmed

Haya Ahmed is currently a Cloud Security Consultant at ScaleSec. Prior to that, they were with Travelers from June 2020 to March 2022, where they were a Cybersecurity Analyst.

During their time at Travelers, Haya developed AWS Lambda functions using Python, Boto3, and Terraform that automatically detect and remediate misconfigured AWS resources within Travelers' Enterprise AWS environment. Haya also reviewed and documented security risks for AWS cloud services, and created security guardrails based off these findings using AWS Service Control Policies and SPL queries in Splunk to alert on security threats and misconfigurations. In addition, Haya performed cloud-security production-readiness reviews of cloud-native apps, reviewing security architecture and collaborating with engineers and solutions architects to address security concerns.

Haya Ahmed has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Guelph. Haya also has certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. In addition, they have certification from Google in Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect and Associate Cloud Engineer.
