Varun Kumar

Varun Kumar, MD FACP, currently serves as Vice President and Medical Director for Quality and Member Experience at SCAN, where leadership has led to significant improvements in California ratings. With extensive experience in various healthcare roles, Varun has held multiple positions at Houston Methodist, including Medical Director of Inpatient Services for Methodist ACO and Lead Hospitalist for Value-Based Care. As a co-founder and CEO of Roxie Health, a company focused on fall prevention solutions for seniors, Varun has contributed to addressing increasing mortality rates from falls. Previous experience includes a Biodesign Fellowship in Digital Health at Texas Medical Center, board membership at Devoted Medical Group of Texas, and clinical research during residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Varun holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University, supplemented by a Certificate from the Innovation Execution Program at Stanford University.
