Evgeny Sobolev

Evgeny Sobolev has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Evgeny is the co-founder and CEO of Scanderm, a biotech startup studio focused on dermatology, where they have achieved significant results in terms of user growth and sales increase. Evgeny has also received multiple international awards in pharma marketing.

At The IT Department of Moscow Government, Sobolev served as the pioneer of gov-tech projects. Evgeny led a B2B tech-tours platform and fin-tech project for the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, which received recognition as the "best business event."

Sobolev is currently working as a Subject Matter Expert at Vnesheconombank, where they are involved in the strategy development of the startup ecosystem in Russian universities. Evgeny is also an expert in the National Technology Initiative of Russia in HealthNet and EduNet tech industries, contributing to the improvement of the ecosystem for medical and educational innovations.

Furthermore, Sobolev holds a position as a lecturer at Higher School of Economics, where they conduct exams about startups for master's students.

In addition to their entrepreneurial and academic work, Sobolev has served as a board advisor for Otwinta, the first STEM festival in Russia. Evgeny has organized numerous international events to showcase export opportunities for inventions of young scientists.

Earlier in their career, Sobolev held positions at the Industrial Development Fund of Russia, where they initiated and created a department to support youth technological entrepreneurship, and at Cosmetic Union SVOBODA, where they served as CFO's advisor and achieved success in creating licensed products.

Moreover, Sobolev has experience in the biotech industry as the Director of Development at Cosmeceutical Incubator. Evgeny supervised the development of medical technology startups and successfully secured government orders for biotech cosmetics.

Evgeny Sobolev has a diverse education history. Evgeny completed their Specialist's Degree in Logistics, Marketing, and Mathematical Economics at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics from 2007 to 2012. In 2011, they participated in an exchange program at Turun yliopisto - University of Turku, studying Economics and Marketing.

Evgeny went on to earn a Master's degree in International Technology and Innovation Management from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics between 2012 and 2014. Evgeny then pursued a second Master's degree in Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability at LUT University from 2013 to 2016.

To enhance their knowledge and skills further, Evgeny participated in various certifications and programs. Notably, they were involved in the Y Combinator Startup School, a biotech accelerator by Skolkovo (winning once and becoming a finalist another time), and the Archipelago 20.35 AI startup competition. Evgeny also took part in programs and exchanges conducted by institutions like Shinhan Bank, K-Startup Grand Challenge, Moscow City Hall "StartHub" accelerator, Novartis, Bayer, Sanofi, 2035, Communist Party of China, TAVtech, The Jewish Agency for Israel, RVC USA, GVA Capital, Moscow State University, Kaplan, and Bell College.

In 2021, Evgeny Sobolev engaged in an Executive Education program at Stanford University, focusing on Venture Capital. More recently, in 2022, they were recognized as a finalist in the Shinhan and Celltrion Bridge2Korea acceleration program.
