Shawnia Austin

Shawnia Austin is a medical records specialist with extensive experience in healthcare training and management. Currently serving at Scanning Sherpas since May 2018, Shawnia is responsible for reviewing and retrieving essential documentation for Medicare Risk Adjustments and Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set from various medical records. Prior roles include corporate trainer at FacilitySource, where innovative training programs were developed for new and existing employees, and training specialist at Helios, where Shawnia advanced from quality assurance through demonstrated expertise. At Progressive Medical, Shawnia held multiple positions, culminating in a supervisory role overseeing a team of customer service representatives and managing medical care for injured workers. Shawnia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Care Management from Franklin University and has further education from Columbus State Community College.
