Birgitte Støvring

Birgitte Støvring has extensive work experience in various scientific and leadership roles. Birgitte is currently working as the Head of Department, Laboratories at Scantox A/S since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Team Leader at Aid Ukraine Denmark, a not-for-profit initiative assisting Ukrainian families affected by the war. Birgitte collaborated with several Danish organizations during their tenure from March to September 2022.

From 2021 to 2022, Birgitte was the Director of Bioanalytical Services at Wieslab, a Svar Life Science company. Before that, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Novo Nordisk from September 2017 to January 2021.

Earlier in their career, Birgitte held the role of Scientist at Unilabs A/S, where they specialized in bioanalytical sciences and molecular assays from July 2013 to August 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Copenhagen and Statens Serum Institut, focusing on Malaria vaccine development and genetic epidemiology.

Birgitte also worked as a Molecular Biologist and PhD at Statens Serum Institut, where they managed laboratory operations, conducted genetic diagnostics, and contributed to research and development from January 2010 to June 2013.

Birgitte began their career as a PhD student in Genetic Epidemiology at Roskilde University/Statens Serum Institut, studying the CRYAB gene in patients with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Multiple Sclerosis. Birgitte completed their doctoral studies from February 2005 to December 2009.

Birgitte had earlier roles as a Research Assistant at Statens Serum Institut and as a Teaching Assistant and Student Research Assistant at Roskilde Universitet.

Birgitte Støvring completed their education at Roskilde University. From 2005 to 2009, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2003, they obtained their MSc in Chemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution. There is also mention of their completing another Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree, although the specific field of study and the years of completion are not provided.
