Björn Platzack

Björn Platzack, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles related to toxicology and pharmaceutical research. Björn is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Scantox Sweden. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Adlego Biomedical AB. Björn also worked at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, where they served as the Director of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Safety, Acting Director of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Safety, and Head of in vivo research. Before joining RISE, they were a part of Swetox, Swedish Toxicology Sciences Research Center, as a PhD member of the Swetox Core Team, specializing in General and Inhalation Toxicology. Björn also has experience working at AstraZeneca R&D, where they held various roles such as Associate Principal Scientist, Team Leader, Study Director, Global Toxicology Project Director, and Project Toxicologist and Study Director. Björn also served as a Mentor for Toxicologists and Study Directors at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica. Additionally, Björn has academic experience as a Post Doc and Teaching Professor at the University of California, Irvine, and obtained their PhD in Zoophysiology (Cardiovascular control) from Göteborgs universitet.

Björn Platzack, PhD, received their PhD in Zoophysiology (specializing in Cardiovascular control) from the University of Gothenburg from 1992 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a postdoctoral study at UC Irvine from 1999 to 2001, although the field of study during their postdoc is not specified.
