Adriana Carvalhal

Adriana Carvalhal is a highly experienced psychiatrist and academic, currently serving as a Staff Psychiatrist at Scarborough Health Network since December 2020 and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto since July 2016. Previously, Carvalhal held the position of Psychiatrist-in-Chief at Kingston Health Sciences Centre from April 2019 to December 2020 and served as an Associate Professor at Queen's University until December 2020. Carvalhal directed the Medical Psychiatry Consultation Service at St. Michael's Hospital from February 2012 to March 2018 and worked as an Assistant Professor at McMaster University from February 2005 to April 2011. Research efforts included a role with VOICES from 2006 to 2010 and as a CBR fellow with the Ontario HIV Treatment Network from 2006 to 2008. Educational background includes a Psychiatry Residency Program at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a Medical degree from Universidade Federal de Pelotas.
