Steffen Thon

Steffen Thon is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the elevator industry. Currently serving as the Technical Responsible Engineer at Schindler Deutschland since May 2023, Thon previously held the position of Head of Innovation Engineering at Aufzugteile BT GmbH from April 2018 to June 2023. Thon's career began at Zschernig Aufzüge as an Aufzugsmonteur, followed by various roles at FB-Aufzüge, including Technischer Leiter and Leiter Konstruktion und Entwicklung, from June 1997 to March 2018. Thon began their technical journey as a Werkzeugmacher at VEB Elektrowärme Sörnewitz. Educational credentials include a Staatlich geprüfter Techniker in Konstruktion from Fachschule für Technik Dresden and a Werkzeugmacher degree from VEB Elektrowärme Sörnewitz.
