Volker Schmitz

Volker Schmitz has extensive experience in various leadership positions within manufacturing and engineering companies. Volker has held roles such as President & Lead Director of the US Board of Directors at Palamatic, a subsidiary of the Schmalz Group, and President of Schmalz Property USA LLC. Volker also served as President & CEO and Speaker of the US Board of Directors at Schmalz USA, where they were recognized as subsidiary of the year in 2013 and 2021. Prior to that, Schmitz held leadership positions at IMI Precision Engineering, Festo, thyssenkrupp, MG Refining & Marketing, and Klöckner & Co SE.

Volker Schmitz holds a Ph.D. in International Business from Kennedy Western University, which they obtained between 1999 and 2002. Volker also earned a BA in International Relations & German Literature from Connecticut College, and an M.A. in International Economics & Latin American Studies from The Johns Hopkins University. In 2004, they completed the General Manager Course (TGMP 13) at Harvard Business School. Recently, in 2021, they attended the Harvard Business School to undergo training in "Preparing to be a Corporate Director" and obtained certification for the same.
